However, when I decided to make the move to instructor I ran into a problem a lot of you are no doubt faced with also: I knew my subjects, I knew how to teach, but I DIDN'T have a clue as to how to bring the students in! In other words I knew nothing about marketing. Unbelievably, many business people will go through many
years or their entire lives never going after
marketing training; and thus doom themselves to live on a
FRACTION of what they could earn if they would just
get off their rears and get the training they need.
THAT my friend is why MOST MARKETING SUCKS! This is
true be it online, in the yellow pages, newspapers, Read on to find where I received my CAN'T MISS marketing training!! Recently, I've been approached by many to write the copy for web sites, do consultations on existing web sites, and even do coaching to get Internet businesses off the ground. Initially these requests surprised me, but I guess they shouldn't. After all, my marketing credentials and expertise are becoming more and more impressive:
Of course it can be argued that their TERROR of Hikuta is due to the fact that Hikuta is SO SUPERIOR to what they are offering they can see buckets of dollars literally flying out the window! That may be true, but the fact remains that without effective marketing even the best of products are doomed to failure! The marketing strategies that I have masterminded have really got the whole self defense/martial arts world in a state of TERROR! Their feelings of impending doom are well founded! I'm good, but getting BETTER! My fitness products' sales are skyrocketing! This is in a market already GLUTTED with offerings of all types! Literally TENS OF THOUSANDS of fitness products FAIL every year - some of them very good, but lack good marketing. My fitness products on the other hand are experiencing ever-escalating sales! The "Jack Savage Files" - my BLEEDING EDGE fitness and self defense e-newsletter - (since the beginning of the year (05)) has been growing at a rate of over TWENTY PERCENT per month! Or roughly DOUBLING subscriber numbers every 3 months! How did I do it? Jack Savage's Adventures in Marketingland:Hard to believe, but when I earned my Hikuta Master Instructor certification and decided to launch HIKUTA ENTERPRISES I was totally clueless as to anything dealing with sales, marketing etc. Especially Internet marketing! Fortunately, I was smart enough to realize I needed to at least understand something of marketing to succeed. In that regard I signed up for a newsletter dealing with marketing to gain a little understanding. One thing the newsletter said was that people don't care (at an emotional level) WHAT something is, but WHAT IT WILL DO FOR THEM!! Hmmm, interesting. With that in mind I re-wrote several of my web site pages. They went from something like: Hikuta is a combatives system characterized by extreme speed and power. to Hikuta can quickly transform YOU into a force of nature with super human speed and power!! Read those statements over again carefully. What do you notice? One thing- as far as INFORMATION, they say exactly the same thing!! BUT, there is an all important huge difference- and the DEVIL is in the details! The second one takes Hikuta from an academic standpoint to one highly personal - the study of Hikuta will definitely do this for YOU. Both statements are entirely true, but the second is personalized - something the average reader can have an emotional link to. It tells them not what Hikuta is, but WHAT IT WILL DO FOR THEM! What was the result of this re-writing? My sales TRIPLED immediately!!! Not in a month or in a week even, but IMMEDIATELY!! You may think that experience would have opened my eyes to the need for more marketing training. Unfortunately, I was a bit hardheaded with an "anti-sales" type of personality (in all likelihood like most of you reading this!), had a lot of other irons in the fire, and was hoping to find someone to do the marketing for me (now I am VERY glad I didn't!!). After about a year and a half a great TRUTH slowly dawned on me. When I wanted to get super fit what did I do? I became a student of all things fitness- AND SUCCEEDED! When I wanted to master combatives what did I do? I became a student of all things combative and succeeded beyond my wildest dreams! Now my desire became to soon turn my Internet business into something I can do full time, maybe even get RICH off of it. Sounds a bit greedy but why not? After all, many lesser men with far lesser products have made a MINT on the Internet!! Also, I had to think of what that would mean for me and my family. PLUS I have always given a large percentage of my disposable income to charities - so they would be getting even MORE if my income level were to rise. So the question remained: How in the Sam HILL do you make good money online??? What- oh what - should I do?? Like a voice from heaven it suddenly came to me: BECOME A STUDENT OF MARKETING STUPID!! So I FINALLY got smart and set aside a percentage of my budget every year for marketing training. You'll NEVER guess what happened? I am making more $ from the Internet than I ever thought possible! So much so that I may soon be doing this full time! After that - the sky is the limit!! (YES Commander Grinch! Your day is coming!) Despite numerous requests, currently, I am NOT doing any coaching, writing copy for web sites, etc (got too much else going on) but I WILL tell you where I got my marketing training. Think about it: if you get the same training I got it stands to reason you can get similar - if not even GREATER results!! First I bought a VERY expensive marketing course from an individual who had made a lot of money selling products along the lines of my own. I found his course VERY inspirational and informative! Unfortunately he is a difficult person to deal with so I am unable to mention his name here at this time. Maybe we will work things out soon and this will change. After about 9 months working that course I then bought another hard hitting course which further spurred marketing education (see link below). This course is a FRACTION of the first one I bought, but MUCH more in-depth on how to establish, set up and run a successful Internet business. In addition it is FANTASTIC for keeping up with cutting edge technologies to promote your business! The Internet is an ever changing entity and you simply MUST keep up with current (AND future) developments to grow your business!! For these reasons - and many others - I can't recommend these marketing products high enough! This could really be the lucky break you have been looking for!
